Portland: Elyse Visit

Yerman sister number 3 came into town [I was so excited, kinda like a kid who stays up all night waiting for the tooth mouse fairy in Mexico].

I made a well planned out schedule, and we kept to it pretty well. The windy rain weather did mess up our coastal trip, and then the rock slide didn't help us get to our hiking destinations, but we made a few adjustments to our ideas and came out with great fun.

She said the highlights include: Waffle Window (because it is the first place she thought "I can't make this at home and I love it"), Magical Gorge Hike,  and Robbie's singing.

Please visit again Elyse! We love you!

Every day was a rainy one here.

It's weird when he comes home and peeks over my shoulder to see what I'm working on... and it's his portrait. Sorry, but not sorry.

Memory: La Casa de Abuelito y Abuelita

This place is one of the World's Wonders.

Whenever we would visit Abluelito and Abuelita in Pauma Valley, So. Cal, I felt like I was going to a hidden gem that fell out of Mexico. A & A have a beautiful garden, with orchards of citrus fruits and herds of wild cats.

The thing that I loved and also scared me the most were the giant rows of cactus plants. They were practically sky scrapers. I once ate a tuna (prickly pear) and got little thorns all over my tongue. They were removed by the steady hand of my Mami. I recommend anyone who wants a tongue piercing to attempt this, it worked really well.

Readers To the Rescue!

THIS FINALLY WENT LIVE. And if you have a child, like books, mad libs, or videos, you should check this out.

Library of congress hired the Laycock Center at BYU to help them promote reading to children. We had lots of good ideas come through. We decided to reach children through technology, because that's' where kids and everyone else seems to be these days.

We had an amazing team of students collaborate. We had advertising, film, music composition, illustration and animation students come together for the project.

I was the Production Designer for the intro video. A team got together, checked out over 500 books from the BYU library, used an very nice home office and turned it into a magical library!!! You will also hear my quacky Mother Goose voice and as Anne of Green Gables. I also helped paint the sets.

Everyone put blood, sweet and tears into this. Bravo team!

Please enjoy!
