Wacky Bizarro World: Unlce Mitch Illustration

The very talented Uncle Mitch invited me to participate to in one of his children's books. He invited several artist to do a spread for the book. The thing that I love about the Wacky Bizarro World is that it brought to life the artist's imagination. Everyone sees things differently, and here you can see those imaginations together.

This one is mine:

These are some roughs I've been working on for a client these past few weeks. It's has been a fun project and a learning experience.

Wolf + Octopus = Wolftopus

A friend of mine is having her first baby in a month! And I was inspired to make a stuffed animal. I don't know why I thought is was a good idea, especially with these reasons in mind:
1. I don't sew
2. Last thing I sewed that I was proud of was a little felt whale key chain in 6th grade.
4. Oh, I remember, I don't like to sew. I sewed a skirt for a pioneer hike when I was 14 and I wanted to destroy everything during the process.
5. My husband sews better than me, he even knows how to use a real sewing machine. AMAZING.
6. The stuffed animal is a WOLFTOPUS. Don't worry. This is not a real animal hybrid like the mule or the liger (it's a real thing guys), more like a combination of the parents to be favorite animals.

I guess I wanted to challenge myself and see if I could really do it.

It's a little Frankensteiny and it may unravel once the baby boy starts playing with it's tentacles, but I'm satisfied.
