Photo Shoot

Had my first real photo shoot on Friday. Turns out that one of the Ad Lab clients liked the work and  is wanting to publish one of the ads in USA Today.  YAY! That's great news.

Alex was our photographer, and she did a great job. Huzzah Alex.

Nate was a hard worker as well.

Do I have Mayan Heritage?

I'm trying to connect with my Mayan ancestors [if I have any, I just like to believe I do] Growing up in Mexico, going to pyramids and museums helped me understand their culture. And I'm trying to immerse myself  by wearing earrings.

Yes. Earrings.

Maybe not exactly the same earring that they wore, but inspired by them.

Don't worry (Mami, Papi and Mamalita) I'm not going to do anything like this:

My freshman year I met this cool chick who wore miss matching earrings. She also had a bohemian flair and in my mind, one of the coolest people in the world.

She's one of the main reasons why I now wear different earrings.

Junior Year: I met this girl who did a study abroad in New Zealand and she had a gauge. Not one of those plug ones, but it was a pretty looking thing.... I envied her.

Asuncion, Paraguay: I was in a little market where I ran into a Braziguaya (Brazilian + Paraguayan = Lost Identity) who had nomadic behaviors. She had piercings all over her face, but they were not intesne looking because they were made of seeds and wood. She also had a cool tie dye dress and had a really cool accent. I secretly wanted to be her. So I bought one of her earrings. One was a feather, and the other was a little gauge!!!! AAAHHHH.

Presents: My manfriend knows that I look at gauges on etsy and desire to have one, but they are to big for my ears. So he got me some cute ones because he supports me in my rebellion. Thanks manfriend.

So. I like earrings. But the weird ones.

In New York

Came here with a multicultural program to get cool lectures and meet cool people. I'm pretty tired. Our days have been jammed packed.

I'm also going to visit the Becca Ricks, a person I love who use to live at the Pillar House. Can't wait.

Also, fun New York thing going on is Restaurant Week. You can eat dinner at any fancy places for $35.00 and that includes an appetizer, an entree and a dessert. Last night we went to the National, the restaurant the belongs to the last winner of the Iron Chef. It was good. It was the most expensive meal I've paid for. Plus tip and tax was a good $45. Worth it? YEAH.

And now I'm in McDonalds with my friends and we're writing papers for teachers who don't care you are doing something important that can affect you're future. Yeah Mr. Teacher, I'm mad that you're making me write a paper when I could be doing anything else New Yorker.

And I got the chance to visit a cool agency called RGA. I'm liking it. Maybe I'll be back in the summer.
