First Day of School

But it still hasn't hit me that school has arrived. Kinda like Christmas morning. Sometimes Christmas morning doesn't feel like Christmas morning at all... but that's a little sad, but I think in my case with school, it's a good thing.

NAN and I walked to school today and took back to school photos for our mothers.

Last Day of Summer

8:16 am: I awoke to rainbows dancing on my walls.
I like it when I wake up without an alarm. It feels right.

9:00 am: Brainstormed as I walked uphill to campus for an AdLab meeting

9:30 am: Meeting with Laura and Michelle. Last day of summer and starting it right with business. You know we are going far in this world when we are talking about commercials and stuff instead of bike riding / picnics / fishing / chasing ducks on the most beautiful day on earth.

oh snap: 10:30am
Driving to DEER CREEK

11:27 am -12:19 pm: Set up the Hobie Cat!

12:20 pm: NO WIND (boo).
12:21 pm:  Lunch.

12:40 pm: WIND

12:40 pm - 3:00 pm: Sailing and Sunburns

3:00 pm - 4:00 pm: Packing a Hobie Cat

4:50 pm: Lunch with my sisters, aunt, cousins and cousin in law. Mmmmm. Mexican food. Rico.

Abuelita's Calabasitas

Jicama con limon y Tajin

5:15 pm-6:00 pm: Much needed nap.

7:00 pm-7:30 pm: Walked home with oranges in hand  and talking to my parentals in New Zealand.

8:45 pm: Preformed music for friends.

9:30 pm: (and the GRAN FINALE) FLOATED WISH LANTERNS off the Pillar House roof (thank you NAN) in honor of Brooklynn Johnson. She is leaving for a long time to London to study beauty of life through art and literature.

We were a little nervous as they floated and got stuck in a nearby tree.

PS. I've been wanting to do this for A LONG TIME. It has on many of my lists of things I want to do in my lifetime. Check mark.

My wish floated.

9:40 pm: Ate Chocolate with beautiful packaging.

Last day of summer.
Doesn't really feel real. I still need to finish a book and a few Advertising Campaigns. Also decided that I'm going to invest in a Hobie Cat and going to do Chinese Wish Lanterns at every celebration for the rest of my life.

Shard Necklace

Last week Elyse and I went to DI to look for plates to SMASH with HAMMERS.

Robbie Rane helped us out and supplied us with craftsmanship and tools. We sanded down the edges of the pieces of china and added a little wire.

I made an earring and a little necklace thing.

VOILA! Necklace that is fun!

Watch out BYU. Yerman sisters are wild.

Finally. The moment is here where I boss my sisters around like I use too. I'm a bit out of practice.

This is Elyse's first year here and so far all my man friends think she's a babe. She arrived last week from New Zealand and has stayed with me at the "Pillar House" (my current residency). We cooked, went swimming, biking, ate pupusas and J-Dawgs. I have declared it the best week of my summer. I need a stamp.

Maya arrived last night. She spent the entire summer in New Zealand learning how to make coffee. Because she had a late arrival, she slept over. Today we made Mexican taco's for dinners with her friend... I kept calling him by the wrong name.

ANYWAYS. This year is going to be a gazzilion times funner because my 2 best friends are here.

The Only Reason I Want School To Start

I'm NOT a HUGE movie watcher. I don't know what has happened to me over the years. Don't get me wrong, I do like movies, but my mind starts thinking all about what assignments I have to do, the food I want to eat, the pictures I want to draw, the people I want to visit. During a length of a movie, I could go sky diving thrice! Or other times I find the company or the popcorn more enjoyable instead of the moving pictures.

BUT. For some reason, I'll never turn down an International Cinema Movie.

A lot of the movies on my imaginary movie collection are foreign films. LOVE THEM!!

I Am Being Followed

By a moonshadow.

Ever since I was little, I had a fascination with the floating milky rock in the night sky. I would brag that it would follow me everywhere (sitting in a car and watching it, it seemed like it trailed behind me). I would make up songs about it and moon dance.

I never really grew out of it.
